Cédric Brion builds psychologically charged photographs through controlled light, shadow and symbolic staging. Moving between portraiture and conceptual photography, his work explores presence and absence, vulnerability and strength. He began photographing at 18 and developed his visual language through analogue practice, applied-art and photographic training, graphic design and sustained experimentation.

About the artist
A closer look
Brion treats photography less as a document than as a constructed psychological space. Light, texture and contrast are used to reveal and withhold, while figures often appear suspended between recognition and abstraction. Across his broader practice, portraiture becomes a vehicle for questions of identity, memory and emotional atmosphere. In the Silhouette Triptych presented by Dance Artworks Gallery, this visual language meets the moving body through backlight and translucent material, reducing dance to line, balance and gesture.
