About this original painting
"Corps émoi rouge" suggests the movement of a dancer. The sand applied to the canvas, the oil paint applied with a knife, the movement suggested by the fresh scratched paint give a picture full of matter.
We guess the movement thanks to a treatment at the limit of abstraction: the contrast of reds and black combined with the flesh color adds to the dynamism of the work.
For this painting, Corinne Malfreyt was inspired by photographic works from Eadweard Muybridge, who was the first to highlight the decomposition of movement at the end of the 19th century to many contemporary photographers who try to capture the trace of movement
